The Soup

Published by rachelle under Uncategorized Edit This

I don’t know if any of you watch the E! Show The Soup, but if you don’t I highly recommend you check it out. The show airs on Fridays at 10PM EST and it is hysterical. Joel McHale is so freaking funny. Basically it is entire half hour of him slamming what has happened in television and celebrity news. Now the show can come across as a little mean sometimes but really it is just funny. Plus it has a great clips section, which shows you things you may have missed during the week. Clearly you are a TV fan or you would not be reading my blog so who wouldn’t want to watch a show that pokes some fun at TV. The show is only a half hour long so it won’t take up much of your time. I promise you will love it. I know you may not be home on a Friday to watch it, so DVR it that is what I do. And as always let me know what you think?

It’s 30 Rock Time

Published by rachelle under NBC Edit This

Oh my TV Fanatic friends the wait is finally over 30 Rock makes its big return tonight. Let me tell you the show is pulling out all the stops too with an amazing list of guest stars. Jennifer Aniston, Oprah and Steve Martin. Wow talk about having some clout, you know a show rocks, no pun intended, when you can get big name guest stars. It is kind of like what Will and Grace or Friends did. I don’t watch 30 Rock on a regular basis, I try to catch it but I have to say I don’t love it. However I know there are many many people who love this show and it has won many awards so I thought it deserved a little shout out. I really think though that I might add this show to my Itunes list of shows to watch, just because I feel like I haven’t fully given it the chance it deserves Anyway don’t miss the return of 30 Rock tonight on NBC.

Melrose Place Resurrected

Published by rachelle under Uncategorized Edit This

Well it looks like for The CW everything that was old is new again. It was announced today that the network that brought us back 90210 has given the green light to bring back another 90’s fave, Melrose Place. Now I am actually quite shocked that Melrose Place is being reborn so to speak. It was a good show but I don’t really know that we need another version of it. I personally don’t think it was quite the phenomenon that Beverly Hills 90210 was back in the day. Plus I feel like you would need to bring back some of the old characters to really hook new viewers like the new 90210 did, but the thing is, does anyone really care about what has happened to Jane, or Billy or Amanda?  We all know Marcia Cross has no intentions of going back to the show that made her a star, so there will be no Kimberly which is one character I would actually like to see. I in all actuality can’t even remember how Melrose Place ended, I think it might have had something to do with Amanda and Peter on an island. But Melrose place go so ridiculous the last couple of season I blocked it out. I am sure it this project actually comes to light I will check out, but I do have my reservations about Melrose Place being remade. What do you think, are you happy there could be a new Melrose Place?

Chuck Bass

Published by rachelle under Gossip Girl Edit This

Chuck Bass from Gossip Girl has to be the best character on television. I know there are many of you out there who might not agree with me, but I am telling you it is true. Every time I watch Gossip Girl I am amazed at what a kick ass character Chuck Bass is. The writing of this character is genius and hottie Ed Westwick portrays him perfectly. If you don’t watch Gossip Girl, then I suggest you watch it just purely to see what I am talking about. Oh he is evil, and cruel, yet compassionate and charming at the same time so much that you will actually forget he is a bad guy. I am telling you Chuck Bass is the best character on television. Ladies you know I am right. Anyway I really just had to share that with you. Yes I love Chuck Bass, who is with me?

Weeds

Published by rachelle under Uncategorized Edit This

I have some friends who since the show Weeds began have said that I needed to check it out. Well a few weeks ago I was traveling and decided to download it to my IPOD, now I am addicted to it. My friends were so right Weeds is phenomenal. Granted I can see how the concept could rub some people the wrong way but it is so good. I feel like whenever you talk about Weeds everyone just assumes it is promoting pot and the dealing of pot because she is a suburban mother/pot dealer. However, it is so much more than that. The show is about dealing wit how to cope with life once the one you love is gone. This show is great. The cast is outstanding from Mary Louise Parker to Justin Kirk everyone fits together perfectly. I have only watched like five or six episodes of season one, so I know I have a lot to catch up on but I am loving this show so far. The only downside is, it has become my new traveling show, which means I only watch it on my IPOD when I am traveling, so it may take me awhile to get through it, whatever that is so not the point. The point is that Weeds is fantastic and I highly recommend it to anyone. Just keep and open mind and give it a chance that is all I am asking. So are there any other weeds fans out there besides me?

Sunday Football

Published by rachelle under Uncategorized Edit This

Fall is my favorite time of year for many reasons, but one of the main reasons is Sunday Football. I love football and I love watching it on TV. Whether I am at home or at a bar I love it. Football is my favorite sport to watch on TV. I swear there is nothing like being a bar with friends watching three or four games while drinking some beer and eating wings. Yes Sunday Football is my favorite thing to watch in the fall. A lot of people think that I am crazy because Iama girl who  loves football but what can I say it is my fave. There are some sports such as hockey or baseball that you really have to be there live to watch. Something just doesn’t translate that well to TV with those sports. However, that is so not the case with football. Watching football on TV is just as good as being at the game.  Sometimes it is even better because there are so many games happening at once that you can see more on TV.  Anyway I just wanted to share my love of Sunday football with you all. Now I am off to get ready for some football!

Dancing With The Stars Pretty Good

Published by rachelle under ABC Edit This

I am spending the weekend with family and my cousins and I decided to catch up on Dancing With the Stars last night, which I was thrilled about, because I have only caught it sporadically this season. Well let me tell you, this season is really good. Chloris is hysterical, Brooke is an amazing dancer and Lance is starting to shine. I was unsure how I felt about the cast when it was announced in the summer but I have to say I like it. One episode we watched introduced new dances to the series, which was great. I am now upset that I haven’t watched the show from the beginning. See the problem with DWTS is that it is on two nights in a row for like two hours each night and I just can not commit to that much time for one show. That is so much time. After watching a couple of episodes I think that Brooke and Derek are going to win the disco ball. Now personally I would like to see Lance and Lacey or Julianne and Cody win. I don’t have anything against Brooke and Derek infact Brooke impressed the heck out of me with her dancing, I just love Lance and I am such a fan of Julianne. Anyway regardless of who wins, I think this season of DWTS is great, good cast, good dancers, new dances and fabulous costumes. Keep up the good work DWTS.

James E. Reilly

Published by rachelle under Uncategorized Edit This

Some of you may not know who James. E Reilly is, but let me tell you he was one of the greatest writers in the daytime industry. Mr. Reilly recently passsed away leaving those in the daytime industry to mourn the loss of such a profound man. Not only was he an unbelieveable storyteller, I know this because Days went down hill so fast when he left, but from what I have heard he was an amazing person too. You all know that I am a huge fan of the daytime inudsty, well personally I believe James E. Reilly was the best in daytime. Some have refered to him as a legend and I believe that is true. I feel that the daytime community has suffered an enormous loss with the passing of Mr. Reilly. He was respected by all and will be missed. Like I said above I know his talents from watching Days of Our Lives, but many know his talents from the show Passions. Passsions was his baby so speak. It was corky, unsusal, controversal and yet it had the romance, intruige and great story telling of all other Soap Opera’s. The reason for the success of a show such as Passions is because of Mr. Reilly, he took the risk to give viewers something other than the norm and if paid off for him. I didn’t watch Passions on a regular basis but my mom did so I would see it every now and then and I would think how amazingly talented Mr. Reilly was to have come up with such a show. I as a writer only wish that I had the chance to meet the man whose career I admire so much. James E. Reilly the daytime community will not be the same without you.

What Is Up With Jeff Probst?

Published by rachelle under Uncategorized Edit This

I was watching Ellen the other day and Jeff Probst was on to support Breast Cancer, He was nice enough to be in the dunk tank to raise money for Breast Cancer Research. Anyway as he was walking out to meet Ellen with his Survivor torch, which was ridiculous for so many reasons, he looked really bad. By bad I mean he looked like he has had so much plastic surgery. His face just looked so, well plastic I guess. I realize that men get plastic surgery too so that really isn’t my issue here. The issue is did he or didn’t he and why. It is funny too cause on Survivor Gabon he looks pretty good not plastic at all so I don’t know if that is good camera work or makeup or what but it sure is interesting. I know this is kind of a weird blog for me but it really bothered me. Look am not a super huge fan of Jeff or anything and obviously he can do whatever the heck he wants. However for some reason his looking so plastic really made a point with me. If you saw the Ellen episode and know what I am talking about please give me your two cents.

My Addiction

Published by rachelle under Uncategorized Edit This

As my faithful readers you know I love television but I am here to admit that I have a serious addiction to entertainment gossip shows. That is right shows like Access Hollywood, Extra, and E News are my addiction, even though they all pretty much say the same thing I watch them all. I know it is crazy but I love all that Hollywood gossip stuff, it is so juicy good. Yes people do think I am crazy and ridiculous but I like it. I have to say I think E News is my favorite. It used to be Access Hollywood but that Billy Bush seriously gets on my nerves. I am not too fond of The Insider or Entertainment Tonight. Those two shows just don’t seem to report the gossip as well as the other ones. Although I do like Extra I will admit it is so not as good with Mario Lopez as it was with Mark McGrath. I am not a fan of Mario at all, I think he is disgusting. Ok so yes I have an addiction for entertainment gossip shows. I do like to be in the know about what is going on in Hollywood. Hey what can I say what is happening in Hollywood is generally a lot better than what is happening with me. If you are looking for some mindless entertainment I highly recommend checking out E News or Access Hollywood.

Until next time my faithful TV Fanatics.
