Awards season has officially kicked off with the Golden Globe Nominations today. I love awards season, I really do. I was quite pleased with the nominations for Television.  I was glad to see Californication and Weeds both got nominated for Best Comedy. Both shows are great and deserve the recognition. I was also thrilled to see January Jones nominated for Best Actress in a Drama series for her role as Betty Draper on Mad Men. I was however surprised to see that Jeremy Piven was not nominated for Entourage, but David Duchovany was nominated. Other than that there weren’t too many surprises on the list. I keep reading over the nominations and I have to say there are some categories where I can’t pick a winner. For example Best Actress in a Comedy Series all of those women are deserving and I would be thrilled to see any of them win. I will say that I would like to see Entourage, Weeds or Californication win for Best Comedy. I think 30 Rock and The Office have won more than enough. Oh and I must say that I was extremely surprised that Bryan Cranston from Breaking Bad did not get nominated. I thought after he won the Emmy he would be on the list. The Golden Globes is actually my favorite Awards show because it has both movies and TV, I mean I guess so does the Sag Awards but they don’t seem to have the luster that the Golden Globes due.
