Tonight the new A&E series The Beast, starring Patrick Swayze, begins at 10PM EST. Swayze plays a veteran FBI agent with shall we say a lack of morals who gets a new rookie partner, played by Travis Fimmel. The veteran agent has a hard-edge, psychologically driven, approach to undercover work which is how he trains the new rookie. In a line of work where life and death decisions are made and a moment’s hesitation can cost you your life, these two completely different agents will have to learn not only to work together but to have each others backs.
The show itself does sound quite intriguing and I know some people who have seen the pilot and they said it is an awesome show. I personally will be tuning in to see Swayze. He is a phenomenal actor and I am excited to see him working again. That is really all I have on the show for now. I could go on and on about Patrick Swayyze but I won’t, so everyone tune in tonight to see the debut of The Beast.

Last year NBC announced it would be the last season of the hilarious comedy Scrubs. Well lucky for us Scrubs fans ABC knew what a gem the show was and picked it up. Thanks ABC. And not only that but the show looks good, especially with the addition of Courtney Cox for a few episodes. Now I heard rumors that Zach Braff isn’t going to be on the whole season, but I am hoping that is just a nasty rumor. I wrote a blog not that long ago about how I couldn’t really find any good comedies out there to watch but I have to say Scrubs is such a great comedy. In fact it is really about the only comedy that I still watch. Yes it has been on a while and is a little out played but it still make me laugh out loud, which we all know is a good sign of a show.

If December was the month of reruns then January is the month of No More Reruns. This week alone almost all of my favorite shows are back. YES! Tonight alone there are new episodes of Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, and The Bachelor. I cannot wait, after a month of reruns I get to see all my favorite characters back in action. Plus 24 is back on Sunday after a two year hiatus. I must admit that I am quite surprised that so many shows are airing so soon in January, I thought they would be like next week or something. You know that the shows will be building up to February sweeps for the month of January, which means the shows will be good. Anyway set your DVR’s or VCR’s, if you still have them, or heck even stay home and watch but get ready for all new shows. I will be adding more posts this week about great shows you do not want to miss that are back this week like 24, and Scrubs so check back.

ABC Family’s hit show from last summer The Secret Life of The American Teenager is back for season two. tomorrow at 8PM EST. In preparation for the premiere ABC Family is running an all day marathon today beginning at 2PM EST. There has been a lot of hype about this show since it’s debut and I have to say I for one am intrigued. Although I recorded a couple of episodes I never actually watched them. I don’t know why I didn’t I think I just got too busy. Anyway the cast is rumored to be phenomenal and the show is supposed to be fantastic. Former Brat Packer Molly Ringwald plays the mom of the pregnant girl, so that is definitely enough reason to tune it. I know there are people out there who knock ABC Family as being too well family orientated but although that is their thing, they have shows that are somewhat controversial too and that is why I like them. Plus their family shows are good. Ok so I think everyone should check out the Secret Life of The American Teenager it has gotten great reviews and a lot of press. Alright, so that being said don’t forget to tune in today at 2PM EST for the marathon or tomorrow night at 8PM EST for the premiere.

So while I was home over the Holidays I was watching shows like Chamred and The OC that are no longer airing new shows but are airing reruns and it got me thinking about shows I liked that are no longer on air at all. There are so many ways to still see your favorite shows because lets fact it with cable so many of them air in syndication and reruns. But what about those great shows like Dallas, or Dynasty that are no longer on air. I know Dallas used to be on SOAPNet but I am pretty sure they pulled the plug on it for The OC and One Tree Hill. Anyway I was thinking the one show I would like to see again that is no longer airing is Family Ties. That was such a great comedy but you can’t find it anywhere. Granted there is a chance you can find in on DVD, and to be honest I have no idea if it is out or not on DVD, but that isn’t the same as it actually being on TV. I knowthis is kind of a n odd topic but there are just some great shows that you can not find anywhere anymore. Yet you can find shows such as Friends, Everybody Loves Raymond and Scrubs all over TV. So now I want to know what show would you love to see back on TV in reruns? Like I said mine would be Family Ties, Dynasty, Dallas and probably even Falcon Crest. Oh and what about that show Our House with Deidre Hall, Shannon Doherty and Wilfred Brimley. Nice.

It is New Years Eve, which means many of us will be staying home or having people over. In true New Years Eve tradition there are a couple of countdown to 2009 type shows that will be on. My all time favorite New Years Eve show is of course Dick Clark’s Rockin Eve, even with Ryan Seacrest thrown into the mix I still like it. It airs on ABC. Then there is the Carson Daly Show that is on NBC. Now I am not a fan of Carson but hey toeach his own. And the only other one I know of is the Anderson Cooper one on CNN. There could be more out there that I am missing but I think those are the main ones. You will need to check local listings for all shows. So like I said if you are staying for whatever reason turn on a countdown show. I would like to wish all my faithful readers a happy and very safe New Years.

Whitney Port has left The Hills for The City, I am sure most of you already know this information. Now my question is, how many of you watched the premiere of the City last night? I admit I only caught bits and pieces of the show, but it is of course set up on my DVR and it will be watched very soon. That being said from just the little bit I saw, the show looked really good. Granted it is was the first show and Whitney is my favorite character from The Hills so I am rooting for her show to do good. Plus I feel like Whitney was really underrated and unused on The Hills so I am interested to find out what Whitney is really like, especially without all of Lauren’s drama. My favorite part of the show is going to be Whitney’s job at Diane Von Furstenberg. I hope that we get to see some really good behind the scenes stuff. Plus being a New Yorker, I obviously like that it is filmed in New York. Ok so if you watched the show let me know your thoughts.

Tomorrow night MTV will debut the new show Bromance with Brody Jenner. The show basically is a Reality competition show for guys to compete to be apart of Brody Jenner’s entourage. You know since he and Spencer Pratt are no longer friends there is apparently a void that needs to be filled. So what better way to find a new pal then by doing a Reality show right? The wannabe Brody pals will compete in challenged that test their loyalty and of course compatibility along with some other ridiculous crap to prove they are worthy of hanging with Jenner. I have heard about this show for awhile and have even seen some previews clips and all I can really say is does Brody Jenner really deserve his own show? Not only that but why does he think he is so worthy of guys competing to hang with him, I mean granted there clearly are guys who want to, but all that aside I think Brody is a jerk who is completely full of himself. The Hills star obviously thinks that being a Reality TV “star” makes him way more important that he really is. Now all of that being said will I still watch Bromance, probably an episode to see just how bad it is, yes I already have judged the show. Anyway so I clearly don’t think Brody deserves his own show, what do you think? If you want to check out Bromance tune in to MTV tomorrow night at 9PM EST.

Jericho fans can thank The CW for reviving the show. In an interesting move The CW recently revamped its Sunday Night line up and added the show Jericho to their schedule. I for one am psyched. I love Jericho and was so upset when CBS cancelled the show. I am telling you there are Jericho fans out there and I feel like CBS did not give the show the time it deserved to build up the ratings. I plan on tuning in every Sunday Night at 7PM EST to relive the excitement, drama, romance and well all around greatness that was Jericho. Plus Skeet Ulrich is so hot and amazing in the show he alone is worth watching the show. All that said though if you are a Jericho fan then don’t forget to watch it each Sunday and if you are not a fan then check it out. It is truly one of the greatest shows of all time. Seriously it is. I have the show on DVD and will still tune it to watch it on The CW. In fact I won’t even DVR it, I will watch it live. That alone should tell you how freaking great of a show Jericho is. Alright I think I have gotten my point across, Jericho, tune in Sundays on The CW.

I wrote a blog a few months ago about how SOAPNet has completely gotten away from Soaps by airing movies when they could be airing like a weeks worth of shows. Well to further prove my point SOAPNet is gettimg ,more into Reality TV. Now before I continue I want to say that I love Reality TV, I am a huge fan, so this is not at all about that. Ok so that being said SOAPNet is going to air a Reality show with Greg Behrendt, you know the guy who wrote He’s Just Not That Into You, well apparently he is going to help people with their relationships. I have no opinion on the show because I haven’t seen it, so it could be good but I just don’t think it belongs on SOAPNet at all. SOAPNet is for Soap Operas not Reality TV. Plus I have read that SOAPNet has a few other Reality TV shows in the works too. Yeah I think the powers that be at SOAPNet need to remember that the network is called SOAPNet for a reason. Stop with the Reality TV crap and give me some Soap Opera’s. That is all I have to say on the subject.
